1. Who we are

CV Feedback (cvfeedback.nl) is based in the Netherlands. We provide an AI-powered CV review service for job seekers in the Dutch and EU labour market.

2. What data we collect

We collect only the data you actively provide to us:

Your CV (PDF) — uploaded by you for the purpose of receiving feedback. This typically contains your name, contact details, work history, education, and other personal information you have chosen to include.
Target role and market preferences — the optional role title and target market you select before submission.

We use Umami, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool, to understand aggregate site usage (e.g. page views and referrers). Umami does not use cookies, does not collect or store personal data, and does not track you across sites. It does not store your IP address or build any individual profile.

3. How we use your data

Your CV is used for one purpose only: to generate personalised, AI-powered feedback to help you improve your chances in the job market.

We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or any purpose other than delivering the service you requested.

4. Legal basis for processing

Under GDPR Article 6, we process your data on the following basis:

Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)) — processing is necessary to deliver the CV review service you requested.
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — you explicitly tick a consent checkbox before uploading your CV, confirming you understand how your data is processed.

5. Third parties & processors

We share your CV data with the following third-party processors strictly to deliver the service:

Your CV is never sold, shared for marketing purposes, or used to train AI models. Anthropic's API terms explicitly exclude API data from model training by default.

6. Data retention

We do not store your CV. Once your feedback is generated and returned to your browser, your CV data is discarded from our systems. It is processed entirely in real-time memory.

Anthropic may temporarily retain API request data in accordance with their own privacy policy, but does not use it for training purposes.

7. Your rights under GDPR

As a data subject under GDPR, you have the following rights:

Right of access — request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
Right to erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
Right to restriction — request that we limit how we process your data
Right to data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
Right to withdraw consent — withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect processing already carried out)

8. Security

We take appropriate technical measures to protect your data in transit:

All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections
Your CV is never written to disk or stored in a database
Our API proxy does not log request content
Access to our infrastructure is restricted and protected
